Un peu plus tôt cette année, Heavy Kevy de Insanity Alert créait son propre label de musique, Mosher Zero. Le premier groupe à sortir un album sur ce dernier fut Headless Hunter. Etant curieux, je me suis permis d’envoyer un mail au groupe pour leur demander si une interview leur serait intéressant. C’est donc avec Mark que je me suis entretenu. Un grand merci à lui !

Moi: How are you ?

Mark: We’re doing well, thanks for asking !

Moi: You have released your first album in the beginning of the year. What is the inspiration for this one ?
(Vous avez sortis votre première album en début d’année. Quelles ont étés les inspirations ?)
Mark: We just really wanted to make thrash metal, and were influenced by the bands we were listening to at this time. These bands are the classics like Exodus, but also the ‘newcomers’ like Crisix and Warbringer.
(On voulait simplement faire du Thrash Metal, et nous sommes par les groupes que nous écoutons en ce moment. Ces groupes sont les classiques comme Exodus, mais aussi les « nouveaux-venues » comme Crisix et Warbringer. )
Moi: You are the first band of the new label, Mosher Zero. How was the collab with Kevin ?
(Vous êtes le premier groupe du nouveau label, Mosher Zero. Comment s’est passé la collaboration avec Kevin ?)
Mark: Collaborating with Heavy Kevy at Mosher Zero has been exciting and rewarding. We’re honored to be the first band on this new label, Mosher Zero. He even released our CD, which was a significant milestone for us. We’re just really happy he puts his trust in us.

Moi: How was born Headless Hunter ?
(Comment est né Headless Hunter ?)
Mark: Lucas van der Heijden and I, Mark Hendriks, have been in a band since we were around 16, albeit not very seriously. We never performed live and mostly jammed with friends. Eventually, we decided it was time to write our own music. Lucas figured out how to do this on his home computer and then came over to my place to teach me the ropes. That’s how our first song, « Hostile Takeover, » the first one we ever wrote together, came to be. I’m very proud that the first song we wrote together made it onto the album. This was the beginning of Headless Hunter. We wrote The Undertaker album over the next ~2 years before playing our first show, right after the corona pandemic.
(Lucas van der Heijden et moi même, Mark Hendriks, étions dans un groupe depuis qu’on avait 16 ans, bien qu’il n’était pas vraiment sérieux. Nous n’avions jamais joué en live, on se contentait de jouer avec les copains. Puis on a décidé d’écrire nos propres musiques. Lucas a commencé à composer ça chez lui, sur son ordinateur, puis il m’as appris à utilisé les différents logiciels. C’est comme ça que notre première chanson, « Hostile Takeover », la première que nous avons écrit ensemble, à vu le jour. Je suis très fier de cette première musique. Ce fut le début de Headless Hunter. Nous avons écrits The Undertaker dans les deux années qui ont suivis et nous avons commencés à faire des lives juste après la pandemie)
Moi: What is your musical influences ?
(Quelles sont tes influences musicales ?)
Mark: Our musical influences are diverse, ranging from classic thrash bands like Exodus to the newer bands like Warbringer, Crisix and Power Trip.
(Nos influences musicales sont diverses, ça varie des groupes classiques comme Exodus au nouveaux groupes comme Warbringer, Crisix et Power Trip.)
Moi: Some news musics, or projects ?
(De nouvelles musiques, ou projets ?)
Mark: Yes, we’re currently working on new music and have plans for a forthcoming album. While we can’t provide a specific release date yet, we’re excited about the creative process and look forward to sharing our new material with our fans. The new album will feature lyrics written by our vocalist, Lucas, and they are shaping up to be angrier, darker, and even infused with humor, adding depth to our themes and messages.
(Oui, nous travaillons actuellement sur de nouvelles musiques et nous avons des projet pour un prochain album. Nous n’avons pas encore de date de sortie spécifique pour le moment, mais nous sommes excités par le processus de création et nous cherchons à partager ça avec nos fans avant la sortie. Le nouvel album sera avec des paroles écrites par notre chanteur, Lucas, et elles seront plus en colère, plus sombre mais il y aura toujours ce côté humour, mais y’aura une dimension plus profonde dans nos thèmes et nos messages)
Moi: Some dates, or tour ?

We just recently came back from a small tour through France which was awesome. We met the guys of Antagonism there who really showed us there are dedicated thrashers all around Europe at least. We will invite them to the Netherlands asap too! Other then that the biggest show on the planning is “Welcome To Hell”, where we share the stage with bands like Midnight and Gama Bomb, so that will definitely be a good one!
(Nous revenons juste d’une petite tournée en France qui était génial. Nous avons rencontrés les gars de Antagonism qui nous ont montrés qu’il y avait des fans de Thrash à travers toute l’Europe. Nous allons les accueillir en Hollande bientôt aussi ! A part ça, le plus gros show que nous attendons, c’est « Welcome to Hell », ou nous partagerons l’affiche avec des groupes comme Midnight et Gama Bomb, donc ça va être super !)
Moi: Do you listen some french band ?
(Tu écoutes des groupes français ?)
Mark: Antagonism is currently my favorite French band for sure. When I was a bit younger I also listened loads to Gojira of course. Other than that I don’t know too many French bands.
(Antagonism est mon groupe français préféré. Quand j’étais un peu plus jeune, j’écoutais aussi pas mal de Gojira, bien sûr. A part ces deux là, je ne connais pas beaucoup de groupes français)
Moi: Any place where you wanna play ? Any band ?
(Des endroits ou tu aimerais jouer ? Avec quel groupe ?)
Mark: We would love to play shows with Warbringer, Insanity Alert or Crisix, the likes of those bands. However, we don’t want to push them or be annoying so time will tell which bands we will play with.
(On adorerait jouer avec Warbringer, Insanity Alert ou Crisix. Cependant, nous ne voulons pas les pousser ou les emmerder, donc nous verrons bien avec quels groupes nous joueront à l’avenir)

Our aim is to leave a lasting mark in the thrash metal scene and to show that old-school thrash is alive and thriving.
